HIWAT

HIWAT HIWAT means “Life” in the Tigrinya language, spoken in Eritrea. The collection was born out of the belief in the empowering potential of craft and art. With the closing of Kuchinate, the longstanding collective of African asylum-seekers, the collective’s prominent creators have decided to set on a new path in which they explore new materials and continue to develop their unique artistic language and individual style. The new body of work celebrates their creative journey and the wisdom of the souls, hearts and hands of these daring artists.
